Emilia Pérez leads the pack with 13 Oscars nominations, while The Brutalist and Wicked earn 10.

The most anticipated event in the film industry is back for its 97th outing, with nominees announced today (23 January) live from Samuel Goldwyn Theater through a global live stream.

Netflix’s Emilia Pérez is the front-runner of the nominees, with 13 nominations – the most a non-English film has ever received at the Oscars. The nominations include Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role and Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, Achievement  in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song) for ‘El Mal’ and the coveted Best Motion Picture of the Year award. Emilia Pérez has been doing exceptionally well at recent award ceremonies, winning four awards at the Golden Globes 2025 and being nominated for 11 awards at the EE BAFTA Film Awards.

The Brutalist and Wicked both received 10 nominations, including Performance by an Actor and Actress in a Leading Role for stars Adrian Brody and Cynthia Erivo respectively, Achievement in Film Editing and Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score), while A Complete Unknown and Conclave both have eight. 

Spotlight are proud to see the following members recognised for their outstanding performance: Ralph Fiennes for Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in Conclave, Guy Pearce for Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in The Brutalist and Felicity Jones for Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in The Brutalist.
