Everything Everywhere All at Once’ leads the 95th Academy Awards with seven Oscars wins, including the Best Picture award

Undoubtedly, the Oscars are the biggest event of the film calendar. After a year of film festivals, premieres, junkets, screenings, home releases, critic reviews and social media chatter, the biggest films of the last 12 months gather in Hollywood to celebrate the industry’s biggest achievements. Stars from around the world don their finest gowns and smartest suits ready for a long walk down the champagne-coloured carpet to the entrance of the famous Dolby Theatre.

Everything Everywhere All at Once won in all three acting categories that it was nominated in, with Michelle Yeoh making history as the first Asian woman to win the award for Lead Actress. Ke Huy Quan won Best Supporting Actor and Jamie Lee Curtis walked away with the award for Best Supporting Actress.

The five Best Actor nominees were all first-timers – which hasn’t happened since the 7th Academy Awards in 1935. Brendan Fraser received the award for his breathtaking performance in Darren Aranofsky’s The Whale.

All of the Best Original Song nominees gave incredible performances at the ceremony with the award going to Naatu Naatu. The track from the Indian epic action film, RRR, is the first song from Indian cinema to win an Academy Award.
