Into the Spotlight: Our New Monologue Competition

We’re thrilled to let you know about our brand-new monologue competition: Into the Spotlight! We’ll be launching the competition once a quarter with a different theme, to give as many members as possible the chance to showcase their talent, with one winner being selected each quarter to win our grand prize package.

We’re also delighted to announce that we have a very special guest judging panel for our first round *drum roll please*, the team at Sophie Holland Casting! Just some of the recent projects for the team include The Witcher, Cherry and The Witcher: Blood Origin. Sophie, along with Faye Timby, Frankie Fearis, Chandra Ruegg, Sara Short and Sharon Sorrentino will be judging the shortlisted entries and picking the winner!

The Prize Package:

  • Your Spotlight membership fee paid for one year
  • A Career Advice session with our Spotlight Success Manager, Emma Dyson
  • Self-tape equipment curated by our Audio-Visual Specialist Nicholas Peel, worth £250
  • Your entry will be shared with our casting director, agent and performer members in our newsletters as well as on social media and our news pages.

Sounds Good! How do I Enter?

To enter Into the Spotlight, simply fill in the below form and upload your tape. The theme for our first giveaway is CHANGE, so choose a piece (or write your own!) that you feel demonstrates your talent and what the word change means to you.

Need some help choosing a piece? Read our guide to finding a good monologue. Or if you'd like some help with filming your monologue, we have plenty of self-taping tips for you to read.

Once we close the form on Tuesday 4 October at midnight, the Spotlight team will review all our entries and shortlist the final 10, from which a winner will be chosen by our guest judges. The top 10 shortlisted tapes will be shared in our member newsletters, via social media and will be sent to our casting and agent members.

  • You must be a current member of Spotlight
  • You may enter only one piece per competition
