All the winners from the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2023 – live from London’s Royal Festival Hall

Richard E. Grant hosted the 76th EE BAFTA Film Awards from the illustrious Royal Festival Hall, where stars from all over the world joined him to celebrate a great year in film. Grant was joined by Alison Hammond, who hosted from the brand-new BAFTA Studio, ensuring audiences didn’t miss out on a second of the action from the glamorous ceremony.

All Quiet on the Western Front led the way with seven BAFTA wins. The German-language Netflix historical drama won awards for Best Film; Director for Edward Berger; Film Not in the English Language; Adapted Screenplay; Cinematography; Original Score and Sound.

Cate Blanchett won Leading Actress for her performance in Tár, giving a moving acceptance speech about her ‘potentially career-ending’ performance, and paid tribute to all the ‘remarkable’ women nominated alongside her.

Charlotte Wells won Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for her spectacular work writing and directing Aftersun.

Spotlight member Emma Mackey (Emily) picked up the only award nominated by the public — the EE Rising Star BAFTA. The award aims to celebrate performers who are making waves in the feature film industry and Mackay was nominated alongside Spotlight members Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to you, Leo Grande), Naomi Ackie (I Wanna Dance With Somebody), Sheila Atim (The Woman King) and fellow Sex Education performer Aimee Lou Wood.

This year’s BAFTA Fellowship Award was awarded to iconic costume designer Sandy Powell, whose work on period dramas The Young Victoria (2009) and The Favourite (2018) earned her BAFTA awards.
