Voice Skills for Self-Tapes
Wednesday, 24th April 2024, 6-8:30pm BST

A workshop that provides practical exercises, warm-ups and tips to help actors approach their sides confidently and get the most out of their self-tape with a quick turnaround. The workshop looks at various aspects including nerves, clarity, timing, delivery and accent.

Confidence in Auditions
Thursday, 2nd May 2024, 6-8:15pm BST

Whether in person, online or via self-tape, auditions are the primary method of getting work in our industry; so it’s important to have a technique you can rely on under pressure. In this workshop, we’ll look at how to develop self-belief, how to conduct yourself in the audition room and strategies for self-tape success. The secret of any successful audition is the preparation you do on the material and your mindset beforehand. This will underpin all the work we do in this fun, interactive session.

Accent Toolkit: How to Break Down an Accent
Tuesday, 21st May 2024, 6-8pm BST

This introductory workshop looks at the parts of breaking down an accent, giving you the skills to start learning new accents when that last-minute audition comes in.

Lesbian and Queer Female Visibility and Representation within Media
Wednesday, 22 May 2024, 6-7pm BST

During this webinar, the panel will discuss playing well-recognised queer characters on mainstream TV from the viewpoints of a casting director and an actor and why the representation of who plays these roles is so important. There is currently a lot of talk about queer actors playing queer roles but this is usually referring to gay males, queer male actors, and queer male storylines, there is a huge gap in the queer space for lesbian/queer female representation and visibility in the media which this session will focus on. When booking on to the session you will have the chance to submit a question or talking point around the subject if you wish.

An Introductions to Corporate Role Play
Thursday, 30th May 2024, 6-8pm BST

This session will act as an introduction for actors into the world of corporate role-play. I will share how the industry works, how to do corporate role play, and how to give evidence-based feedback.

General American Accent
Thursday, 6 Jun 2024 6 – 9pm BST

This workshop delves deeply into the mechanics of accent/dialect/speech work as it applies to the ‘General’ American accent!

The ‘General ‘American accent is a vital tool for actors to unlock further casting opportunities. In this Intro series, we will be breaking down the basic foundations that make up many varieties of American accents. We will look at consonant/vowel patterns, and muscle/articulatory requirements, and apply them to the script! This will be a lecture-style class with time to listen to native samples, foundations, consonants/vowels, rhythm/melody, and practice sentences.

The Wellbeing Series (18yrs +) 

Our well-being programme is designed to empower and support you to navigate the mental challenges of the acting profession and the uncertain times that we’re living through. These events are currently all online and run via Zoom.

What is BAPAM? Wednesday May 1st 6 – 7pm BST

During this session, we will hear from BAPAM’s (British Association for Performing Arts Medicine) CEO and Training Manager about the services they offer for performers. BAPAM are clinical specialists, delivering expert health and wellbeing services for those working in the performing arts. The breadth of health challenges that may be encountered throughout performing arts careers can range from mental health, musculoskeletal, vocal health and hearing concerns, while common issues such as eyesight and dental health can cause specific problems when performing. BAPAM connects those working and studying in the performing arts with clinical specialists in these fields, and more. We ensure they receive the best possible information and training to prevent poor health as well as care when things go wrong, to support healthy careers and aid recovery from illness or injury.

Confidence in Auditions with EFT Tapping Tuesday 14th May 6 – 7:30pm BST

This workshop will centre around EFT – which stands for Emotional Freedom Technique – also known as tapping: a rapid transformational technique, rooted in neuroscience, modern psychology, and the Chinese medicine meridian system. Using this technique Samantha has helped countless creatives in the Film & TV industry over the years, from actors to casting directors, directors, and agents find more peace, and happiness, reduce their stress and anxiety and manifest their desires with more ease.
